Blackout

CHAPTER 1

We used to see this town as a nice, ordinary suburb. But now we see it as a community of fears, all in one place.

Two weeks earlier

Hi I'm Paint Warrant, a 17-year-old senior. I have a G.P.A of 4.2 and I am ready to join U.C.L.A.

Paint's mom: Who the hell are you talking to?

Paint: What the hell mom, I was in the middle of my video for UCLA, my dream college.

Pm(Paint's mom): Great video, hon.

Paint: Stop it.

Pm: I'm just messing with you.

Paint: Jesus Christ.... what time is it?

Pm: It's 7:53, Why?

Paint: I'm late for school, can you drive me?

Pm: Yeah, get your stuff, we'll leave in two minutes.

That was the fastest we have ever driven to school. We almost hit a kid who was walking to school. I got out and Strutted inside. I felt like a king, even though I was in the weird kid group. But still.

Greg: Hey Paint, I have your computer.

Ahh Greg, the most Irish kid at the school, a.k.a, My best friend.

Paint: Thank god, I would have literally died if I didn't have my computer.

Greg: Do you have any food?

Paint: yeah, I have some cheese.

Greg: Jesus Christ, if you give me any more cheese, I'm gonna kill myself.

Paint: Tough, it is all I have.

Greg: Dammit.

Paint: Where's Max?

Greg: She's in the science lab getting her notes.

Paint: Well, I'll see her later, we should get to class.

Greg: Yeah, today is gonna be great.

Sometimes I feel like a king when I arrive at school because people run up to me.

I enjoy the fact that this is rich in dialogue.
